Description
ISO 14589 – Mechanical Testing of Blind Rivets
ISO 14589 specifies the methods of mechanical testing of blind rivets including: shear test, tensile test, mandrel head retention capability test, mandrel push out
resistance test (prior to setting), and mandrel break load test, at an ambient temperature of 10 C to 35 C.
It applies to blind rivets with nominal diameters up to and including 6.4 mm.
Universal tensile testing machine capable of applying a load continuously at a speed not less than 7 mm/min nor greater than 13 mm/min, until the specimen fails
